It’s officially Christmas season. This is one of my most favorite times of the year. I love the feel of the holidays, it brings out all the baking in me. If you thought I didn’t do enough baking already, you should see me this time of the year. We pull out all the stops and bake all the things, and how can we not bake some easy and tasty sugar cookie cut-outs?
These Christmas Tree Cut-Outs are a simple yet elegant recipe that the whole family will love. I don’t think they lasted a day my kids inhaled each and every one of them. So what do you do when you run out of cookies? Well make more of course, I mean how could you not?
For this recipe we used the Crisco Classic Sugar Cookie Cut Out recipe. It’s one of our go to recipes that we keep coming back to because it produces the most perfect cookie around. We used Criscoยฎ All-Vegetable Shortening baking sticks for these cut-outs.The baking sticks are easily portioned out where you can divide to how much you need or use the whole stick!
You can purchase your Crisco All-Vegetable Shortening in the traditional tubs or in either a 1- or 3-pack of 1 cup sticks. We usually keep both on hand, but the sticks just make everything more convenient since it’s already measured out for you, which just eases the hassle of this already easy recipe!
These Christmas Tree Cut-Outs are the perfect holiday cookie. Dress it up with some sugar cookie icing which we just bought in a bottle from the store, add a couple sprinkles and you have yourself the wonders of what looks like a snow-capped sparkling tree!
The benefits when baking with Criscoยฎ All-Vegetable Shortening instead of butter are amazing! Your goodies will result in a thick light textured cookie with less spread in the oven (which happens because Criscoยฎ has a higher melting point than butter), for perfectly shaped cookies every time.
All-Vegetable Shortening has 0g trans fat* (*See nutrition information for fat and saturated fat content). In addition to baking cookies, when added to melted chocolate, Crisco makes it smoother and when used in frosting, Crisco it makes it more malleable and it holds its shape better. I love when my frosting holds its shape and doesn’t spread too much. It’s my trick to my cake decorating is using shortening!
So when you’re wondering what to bake this season, these Christmas Tree Cut-Outs need to be on your baking list. Not only do they taste amazing, but they are fun for the kids and elegant enough to serve at that fun Christmas party you know you’ll be throwing!
