With delicious ingredients and a little healthier these Blueberry Overnight Oats are a favorite! Minimal time to mix everything together and let it sit and wake up to a tasty breakfast recipe.
I think breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. I think most people believe that, although I’m not always the best at making myself eat breakfast.
These Blueberry Overnight Oats are one breakfast that I do love, because I can make it the night before and have it ready to go for me in the morning to eat.
Which then saves me time in the morning to get other things done in that time that it would take me to make a normal breakfast, and they are super tasty so it’s a win win!
These oats have some fun ingredients, which really make the flavor worthwhile in this recipe. Even the kids will be begging for more!
With the addition of cinnamon, chia seeds and maple syrup you really have a naturally flavored recipe that is not overly sweet but just sweet enough, especially with the pop of blueberries in it!
I love blueberries in so many things but they absolutely work well in these Blueberry Overnight Oats! So if you want a breakfast that you can prepare ahead of time then this is the recipe that you are looking for.

HOW TO MAKE BLUEBERRY OVERNIGHT OATS, STEP BY STEP:
- In a large bowl, combine the oats, 1 cup milk, blueberries, yogurt, chia seeds, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon. Stir well.
- Pour the overnight oats into a glass container with a lid. Place the container in the refrigerator and let it set for 8 hours.
- In the morning, remove the lid and gently stir the oats. If you would like a smoother consistency, you can add the additional ยผ cup of milk to give it a more oatmeal-like consistency.
- Serve warm or cold with your favorite toppings.
CAN I MAKE OTHER FLAVORS WITH THIS?
Absolutely! If you are not a blueberry fan or just want to play around with other flavors etc you can absolutely do that since this base works great with other flavors, some ideas include:
- Banana
- Strawberry
- Apple
- Chocolate chip
- Raspberry
Just play around and see what you want to use and use it! This is a great base to make a lot of different overnight oats.
DO I HAVE TO USE THE CHIA SEEDS?
No, we like to add this for some extra texture and they are an excellent source of fiber, antioxidants, and omega-3 fatty acids.
If you do not have any chia seeds on hand, you can absolutely omit them in this recipe! There is a minimal amount, so you will not know a difference and it will not affect this recipe.
CAN I USE QUICK COOKING OATS?
You can but they don’t make the best of texture. They pretty much dissolve when they are sitting that long for overnight oats.
Which then will result in a more liquid mixture rather than oatmeal/porridge texture that we are looking for. So to be safe, stay with old fashioned oats.
HOW TO STORE:
These Blueberry Overnight Oats will keep stored in the refrigerator covered for up to 5 days! So you have plenty of time to consume, especially if you are making a larger batch.

- If you are not an almond fan you can use walnuts or pecans.
