With easy and minimal ingredients you can have these Peanut Butter & Chocolate Baked Oats on your table in on time. With a cake like texture these are absolutely irresistible.
Ok friends, I love breakfast, I love oatmeal, I love peanut butter and chocolate. So why not combine all three of those favorite recipes and make them into one?
These Baked Oats are amazing. I’ve been hopping on the TikTok recipe train lately and these oats are going crazy viral, so we had to make some because they are crazy delicious.
If you missed my TikTok Soufflรฉ Pancakes last week, then you have to go check them out, they are super fun as well and so tasty, everyone absolutely adores those pancakes.
But let me tell you a little more about these Peanut Butter & Chocolate Baked Oats. They are super simple, which I absolutely adore, you know me the easier the recipe the better.
There are pretty much two different kinds of baked oats that are going crazy, cake style like these where they are all blended up and original where they aren’t.
I love these blended up, they give me a nice cake like texture but are still oatmeal and amazing. Love having these for breakfast, lunch and dessert.
I can’t say that there is a specific time that these are perfect for, they are just absolutely delicious and I want to eat them all day long. Plus they are single serving.
I mean you can’t go wrong with a single serving recipe in my opinion! I hate when I make a big batch of something and it just sits there, so when I can go single serving I do.
Some of our other favorite breakfast type recipes we have on our site include Streusel Topped Baked Oatmeal, Oatmeal Pancakes and Brown Sugar Oat Muffins.

HOW TO MAKE PEANUT BUTTER & CHOCOLATE BAKED OATS STEP BY STEP:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and grease a small baking dish or a larger ramekin (11 oz.+) and set aside.
- Add the oats, milk, 1 tablespoon peanut butter, applesauce, agave or honey, baking powder, vanilla, and salt as well as protein powder, if using.
- blend until smooth.
- Pour the blended oats into the prepared baking dish and stir in chocolate chips.
- Bake for 20 to 22 minutes or a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and top with the remaining tablespoon of peanut butter, the piece of chocolate, and additional chocolate chips if desired. Enjoy warm.
See how easy that is? I mean seriously! We like to add a little protein powder to this to make it a little healthier and get that protein in there, but it is completely optional.
If you leave it out it will not affect the recipe at all! We make either way, sometimes we have some on hand and other times we don’t. We like to have some on hand at time just for drinks and such.
WHAT KIND OF OAT MILK SHOULD I USE?
We use Silk Oat Milk for this recipe. You can easily find it at your local grocer like Walmart, thats where we usually get it. It is a milk that is completely made of oats.
You do not have to use this however. We use it because it still gives the flavor of the Baked Oats and doesn’t take away from that. Other things you can use is regular milk, almond milk, soy milk or cashew milk.
Pretty much any type of milk will work for this recipe, we just chose the Oat Milk because of it’s flavor working so well with this.
DO I NEED A SPECIAL BAKING DISH?
For these Baked Oats we used these baking dishes. You can use anything that is oven safe and that holds at least 11 oz of liquid. Ramekins also work well for this.
If you have larger ramekins at home then those will work, also any larger oven safe mug will work too. The dishes linked above are our go-to single serving dessert dishes.
They are perfect for this recipe and others where we are baking or microwaving things in, such as a mug cake or any thing else. But use what you have on hand as long as it will hold enough of the batter like stated.
IS PROTEIN POWDER NECESSARY?
Absolutely not! You can omit that if you choose, we added it because we like to give a little protein when it is needed. It will not affect the recipe if you leave it out at all.
Like I stated above, we usually have some on hand at times and add it to a lot of our breakfast or drinks just to give it a little more protein since some of us don’t always get enough in a day.
Protein powder is a good thing to have on hand, especially to add it to anything you’re baking, and it really comes in handy for breakfast recipes like these Peanut Butter & Chocolate Baked Oats!
HOW TO STORE:
If you have any leftovers or you decide to make more than one of these you can storer in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days wrapped in plastic wrap.
You can reheat in the microwave until heated through and then top with toppings if desired.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- The dish should be at least 11 oz and be at least 4 inches wide to allow for proper baking.
- The oats will puff up and will settle back down after coming out of the oven.
- I do recommend placing the baking dish on a small baking sheet since the smaller dishes can be harder to handle with oven mitts.
- Alternatively, you can just mix everything together instead of blending for a heartier version.
- I used crunchy peanut butter, but creamy can also be used.
- Almond, cashew, soy, or regular milk can also be used in this recipe.
- You do not have to use the protein powder, that is completely optional.
If you want a fun, easy and absolutely delicious recipe then you need to make these Peanut Butter & Chocolate Baked Oats!
