Easy, fluffy and with a hint of banana these Banana Pancakes are a quick and delicious morning time meal that takes minimal ingredients and whips up in a flash.
As much as I love savory breakfast, I am a sucker for pancakes. They are one breakfast recipe that I refuse to pass up. These Banana Pancakes are one of our absolute favorite pancake recipes.
I’ve always been one of those people that would never eat pancakes at a restaurant, I don’t know why but I was the type that would only eat ones that were homemade.
My mom always made the best pancakes in my opinions and now I have her making my pancake recipe which makes me feel super amazing at times, especially since she loves our Oatmeal Pancakes.

We love anything banana flavored in this house so these Banana Pancakes go over really well with my whole family. They have a nice subtle but not over powering banana flavor that is just heaven.
I have to admit something to you, I used to be horrible at making pancakes, so I never made them. I always just gave up on the, I could never make them stay together.
I know, I know, it’s like how can that happen? They are like a super simple recipe. Well there was a time in my life where I wasn’t as good as a cook as I am now, practice is everything.
And that is exactly what I did, I practiced pretty much every skill I could to make things that I had trouble with.
HOW TO MAKE BANANA PANCAKES:
- In medium bowl whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- In another bowl whisk together buttermilk, vanilla, egg and banana until combined.
- Whisk in your wet ingredients into your dry ingredients until just combined.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and spray with non-stick cooking spray or melt butter in pan.
- Add about 1/4 cup of batter to pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until you see bubbles forming on top and then flip.
- Cook again for 2-3 minutes and then serve.
As much as I love pancakes from breakfast they aren’t all we eat around here, although my kids could love off of them.
Some of my favorite easy breakfast recipes include:
We often make breakfast for dinner around here, just the other day we made eggs, sausage patties, pancakes and hashbrowvs and my kids were in love.
I’m not a big breakfast eater, so I eat breakfast food more or less for dinner, but it doesn’t mean that I do long breakfast in any way, shape or form!
These Banana Pancakes have become my husbands favorite recipe around here and he repeatedly asks me to make them, which they are so easy that I cant help but to oblige.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- For more banana flavoring add a little banana extract to the batter.
- Add a couple sliced banana rounds into your batter while cooking to get banana chunks throughout.
- Make sure when cooking, do not flip until you see lots of bubbles on the tops of your pancakes.
- Let the batter be lumpy, stir just enough where there are no more flour streaks.
- If you don’t have buttermilk, make your own by adding 1 Tbs vinegar to your 1 cup milk.
If you want that perfect breakfast then these Banana Pancakes are something you’ll want to add to the menu, super quick, easy and everyone will fall in love with them.

I made these an I added oat flour (meaning I took oats an turned it into flour, added just 1/4c, to the 1c of flour) I also added toasted chopped walnuts to it as well, an I used fresh whole wheat flour (cause thats what I have), an my hubby loves it, every filling an yummy good, this is my go to for banana pancakes..

My husband has requested I make this my Go-To pancake recipe and I completely agree.
Much to my satisfaction, these pancakes ARE delightfully easy, fluffy and the banana flavour is perfectly mild
(the banana I used had no dark spots on the peel and was medium in length).

This is so great, it is one of my favorite pancakes, and I’m obsessed with banana, but the banana surely doesn’t overpower this recipe at all!
