Tender, savory and delicious these Baked Honey Mustard Chicken Tenders are the perfect quick and easy weeknight dinner for the family!
Chicken is one of our main go to dishes around here. I prefer that meat over pretty much anything else. I don’t now why, I just grew up being a chicken gal.
These this Honey Mustard Chicken is one of my kids favorite meals. They ask for it on a regular basis, and I’m always happy to oblige.
Using chicken tenders in this recipe cuts back on the cooking time a lot and they are so tender and juicy that it really just makes this whole meal amazing.
This recipe is super simple and uses minimal ingredients, we love easy recipes to begin with because with having 4 kids who are constantly hungry, we like to get dinner on the table fast.
Some of my favorite easy chicken dishes include:
Like I said, this recipe is super simple and uses minimal ingredients. 4ish to be exact, if you don’t count salt and pepper, which really I never actually count as an “ingredient” because who doesn’t have salt and pepper on hand.
INGREDIENTS YOU NEED:

- Honey
Seriously, how much more simple could you get with this Baked Honey Mustard Chicken recipe! We love to whip this up all year round, especially on nights when we are looking for something light.
We like to serve this on top of rice or pasta or on it’s own with a side salad. It really is a versatile meal and can be served with a lot of things.
HOW TO MAKE HONEY MUSTARD CHICKEN:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Generously salt and pepper your chicken tenders on both sides.
- In pan add oil and add chicken and just lightly brown each side, but do not cook through, remove from heat and set aside.
- In a bowl whisk together your mayo, mustard and honey until combined, spread half on bottom of a small 1qt casserole dish then place chicken tenders on top and spread with remaining sauce.
- Cover with tinfoil and bake in oven for 15-20 minutes until internal temp is 165.
- Remove from oven and serve, drizzle sauce over top of chicken tenders.
One question I do get a lot is if you can double this recipe or if you can make it with chicken breasts and the answer to both of those questions is yes!
HOW TO MAKE WITH CHICKEN BREASTS:
- Repeat the steps of salting and browning of your chicken just like you would with the tenders and set aside.
- Double your sauce ingredients and use a 9″x13″baking dish and spread half on bottom and then place chicken breasts over the top and spread remaining sauce over the top.
- Cover and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until internal temp reaches 165.
We have made these both ways, but my kids sometimes aren’t able to eat a whole chicken breast by themselves so we like to make them with chicken tenders, smaller portions means they will get eaten fully.
This sauce has such a good flavor, we actually found it over at I Heart Naptime as a dipping sauce and have since used it to cook with, but we also love to use it as dipping for various things.
It has quickly became a family favorite and a staple in our house.
