Black Forest Waffles are your new favorite breakfast food. A rich chocolate waffles is sprinkled in powdered sugar, drizzled in chocolate syrup, topped with cherries and whip cream!
You guys…confession, I’m not the biggest breakfast person. I know weird right. I’ve just never really been the one to eat breakfast. But that’s all changing in the new year I promise you that. This girl is whipping up some fun and delicious breakfast creations…even know I may be eating them for dinner, they still qualify as breakfast!
So let’s talk waffles for a sec, I love me a good Belgian waffle. The thick deliciousness of them draws me in. BUT…..Move over Eggo, there’s a new waffle in town ready to strut her stuff. Let me introduce you to these delicious and decadent Black Forest Waffles!
Ok when I say the word decadent I really loosely am using the term. Despite how pretty these bad boys appear, they are absolutely simple!!! If you can mix things in a bowl, you’re pretty much set on this one you guys.
These Black Forest Waffles are a rich chocolate waffles that’s topped with powdered sugar, drizzled in some chocolate syrup, topped with some cherries and finished off with some whip cream to make it official!
Now in this recipe I use cherry pie filling, you’re more than welcome to make your own cherry sauce but I can’t help but love the flavor of the good old canned stuff, plus it makes the recipe just that much quicker. Heat it up on the stove for a few minutes and drizzle away my friends.
I happen to love all things Black Forest related to be honest. You can check out my Black Forest Trifles and my Black Forest Zucchini Cupcakes to name a few of the ones I have here on the blog. There is just something about chocolate and cherry that goes together so well, and you’ll be seeing more of that combo here soon!
My kids really enjoyed these as well, the cherries really balance out the richness of the chocolate waffles making it a fun unique flavor and for breakfast no less! So I was thanking my lucky stars that my kids loved them, they are such picky eaters. I guess I can’t much blame them since I was the same way as a kid, so any time I can get them to love a recipe I give myself a little pat on the back.
So if you’re in the mood for a fun, quick and delicious breakfast or brinner, these Black Forest Waffles are something I’d love for you to try! Customize to your liking, there are so many fun ways to eat these things. We personally loved the chocolate syrup, powdered sugar and whip cream combo!
