An easy one pan meal these Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas are a delicious weeknight dinner that serves a crowd and takes minimal effort!
We love sheet pan meals around here. Heck we love anything that is considered Mexican food in any way shape or form! There is just something about these Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas that make is seriously addicting.
My kids aren’t huge fans of anything super spicy and luckily these Fajitas have the perfect amount of spice to balance everything nicely where is is perfect for the whole family.

WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS:
- Consisting of minimal ingredients and minimal clean up, this recipe is almost effortless.
- With just a little amount of heat that can be adjusted to your liking, it is the perfect recipe for a whole family.
- These Chicken Fajitas serve a crowd, filling the whole sheet pan there is a bunch to go around for al are family, or you can easily cut the recipe in half and serve lesser people.
While we do like to make traditional fajita recipes this has come to be one of our go to weeknight recipes. The chicken and marinade can be made in the morning then at dinnertime you can pop them in the oven and you will have a delicious meal ready in under 40 minutes.
HOW TO MAKE SHEET PAN CHICKEN FAJITAS, STEP BY STEP:
Slice your peppers, onions and chicken into long thin strips then place in a gallon ziploc baggie. In bowl add all all your marinade ingredients and whisk together until blended (Photos 1-4).
Pour your marinade over your veggies and chicken and close the bag and press around to evenly marinade everything. Place bag in refrigerator for at least one hour but up to 8.
When ready to serve preheat oven to 375. Pour and spread your mixture out onto a large baking sheet and place in oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until chicken is cooked through (Photos 5-7)
Turn on broiler for a few minutes (only a few) and sear the chicken a little bit before serving. Drain the liquid from the pan, squeeze a half a lime over the top and then serve as desired.
HOW TO SERVE SHEET PAN CHICKEN FAJITAS:
There are so many different ways you can actually serve your chicken fajita recipes, here are just a few ideas:
- In a lettuce wrap if you are trying to keep a low calorie or carb diet.
- Make a fajita bowl by serving over some rice.
- The traditional way in tortillas topped with whatever you desire.
- In a salad, this is one of our favorite ways to switch it up, especially my 10 year old salad over.
However you serve your chicken fajitas, this is a great base recipe to get you started!
Why do we love this recipe so much? It’s simple, that is why! We usually have these ingredients on hand at any given time and it is a great summer recipe, although we make it all year long and don’t complain!
TIPS AND TRICKS FOR CHICKEN FAJITAS:
- Use a large sheet pan, we usually use a 12″x 17″ pan.
- This recipe can be cut in half if you are serving a smaller portion of people easily and usually when we do this we use a rimmed 9″x 13″ baking sheet.
- You can swap up your meats in this recipe and make it steak if you would like.
- Adding other vegetables to your liking is super simple, since this recipe is pretty much your basic base chicken fajita recipe.
- Up your spice in the marinade to your liking, this is not a super spicy recipe at all, so adjust accordingly.
- Drain the liquid off of the pan before serving, this prevents having soggy tortillas.

Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 - 2 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts sliced into thin strips
- 1 red pepper sliced into strips
- 1 green pepper sliced into strips
- 1 orange pepper sliced into strips
- 1 yellow pepper sliced into strips
- 1 onion sliced into strips
- Cilantro optional
- Limes optional
Marinade:
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 3 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
- Juice of 2 limes about 1/3 cup
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 Tbs cumin
- 1 Tbs chili powder
- Dash of red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 Tbs sugar
Instructions
- Add your chicken, peppers and onions into gallon ziploc bag.
- In a bowl whisk together all your marinade ingredients and pour over chicken and veggies, moving around to coat everything, seal and place in refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Meanwhile preheat oven to 375.
- Remove your meat and veggies from refrigerator and spread out on a large sheet pan.
- Bake in oven for about 20-25 minutes until steak is cooked through.
- Turn on broiler and broil for just a few minutes to crisp up chicken some.
- Remove from oven.
- Drain off liquid from pan, squeeze half a lime over the top then sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
- Serve with tortillas, rice, etc.
