Happy Leap Day! Now that is a first that I can actually say happy on a Monday…that doesn’t happen often. But this day only comes around once every 4 years, so one should celebrate accordingly. Technically today should have been my mothers birthday…any other year. But tomorrow will suffice for her. That is cool with me though, I am making her a birthday cake this year and I haven’t gotten a chance to start on in. She is wanting a lemon cake, woohoo Spring has officially sprung! Well it’s finally February, and yesterday Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow, so that means an early Spring…which I can handle. Finally though after a pretty mild winter thus far we did get some sort of blizzard here in MN. Nothing to phone home about…school got out early, the wind is sure blowing, but unfortunately the snow has stopped. Like I’ve been telling people, the last few years here it has been pretty mild snow wise. We haven’t received too much of it and I believe that if it’s going to be cold, there better be snow otherwise let’s just move onto Spring! On another note, I made cupcakes! No ordinary cupcakes either. Breakfast cupcakes. Cupcakes to wake up your senses. Who is officially sad that the Holiday’s are over? I know that I am. I love love love looking forward to the get togethers, baking, cooking, gift giving, lights and just the overall general excitement that this time of year brings. Now it’s after the first of the year and I have to find some more things to start looking forward to. I think this year I am officially going to start a bucket list. Not saying that I have to accomplish it this year but at least start compiling a list of things that I want to do in my life so I have more things to keep looking forward to.
