Make Ross’ favorite sandwich, the Turkey Moist Maker Sandwich! This incredible sandwich is overflowing with the best leftovers from Thanksgiving.
If you’ve ever watched the sitcom Friends, you may recognize this sandwich. I may or may not have an obsession with this show- it’s always been a favorite of mine.
In season 5 Ross refers to a sandwich that Monica makes, that he calls “The Moist Maker”. It gets its name from the piece of bread in the middle that she drenches in gravy.
The whole sandwich is basically all the most delicious things from Thanksgiving that are lefts and all piled together in a massive, incredible sandwich!
While this episode made me chuckle, I knew I had to try this Turkey Moist Maker Sandwich and once I told my family what I wanted to do, they were all in and excited. It’s sooo good!
This has since become a family tradition of ours and we just cannot get enough of it, every year this gets made with all the leftovers and no one ever complains.
It makes the perfect, lunch, dinner or just because you’re craving something meal. So if you have some amazing Thanksgiving leftovers, you need this Turkey Moist Maker Sandwich in your life.

CAN I ADD CHEESE?
Want to add some cheese to this Moist Maker Sandwich? Try adding some Pepper Jack, Monterey Jack, or Gouda cheese. Now it is not true to the original but cheese is always a good option.
HOW CAN I MAKE THIS WITHOUT LEFTOVERS?
If you are like me and really just love sandwiches of any sort, this Moist Maker Sandwich can be made without having to worry about using leftover Thanksgiving recipes.
You can simple use deli turkey, boxed stuffing, canned cranberry sauce and jarred or a packet of gravy and assemble with the bread, lettuce and mayo.
This will obviously have you have more ingredients on hand, but that means more of these sandwiches for everyone.
CAN I MAKE THESE AHEAD OF TIME?
I don’t suggest trying to make these ahead of time. Since the sandwich is so moist from the moist maker piece of bread and the stuffing, you’ll end up with a soggy limp sandwich if you make it too far in advance.
I suggest assembling right before you are about to enjoy. Unless you want to get a little bit of the moistness to seep through to everything.
HOW TO STORE:
This sandwich shouldn’t be made ahead of time. You should wait to assemble it until you’re ready to dig into it. Don’t keep leftovers long as everything will get soggy, I do not recommend freezing leftovers either.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Wait to assemble this bad boy until you’re ready to eat it.
- You can add any additional leftovers from your Thanksgiving feast that you see fit.
- This is a hearty, overstuffed sandwich so be very careful when cutting it and eating it.
- Don’t skip out on the gravy drenched centerpiece of bread, that’s what makes the whole thing nice and moist.
- You can cut it up however you prefer, or just eat it all as one large sandwich.
- I don’t recommend trying to keep leftovers or trying to freeze them.
- You can use your leftovers cold, or hot once you’ve warmed them up. Whatever you prefer, I find that the gravy is easy to use once it’s warm and it soaks easier in to the bread.
- This can be made without leftovers, see above on how to do that.
Grab your Thanksgiving leftovers and the tv remote so you can whip up this easy Turkey Moist Maker Sandwich and enjoy it while you watch Season 5 Episode 9: The One with Ross’ Sandwich.
