WHAT IS THE BEST TYPE OF MAPLE SYRUP TO USE?
For this recipe you will want to use PURE maple syrup, you will not get the same flavor or results using a non-pure syrup.
You can use any brand that you like, we used Great Value for this recipe – so it does not have to be the top brand either.
HOW LONG DO I NEED TO COO/CHILL THIS BEFORE CUTTING?
With fudge, the hardest part is waiting for the mixture to set up so you can devour it.
For this Maple Fudge Recipe you are going to want to let it cool to room temperature for at least 1 1/2-2 hours then chill it for 1 hour.
I know it seems like a lot, but its fudge and it is absolutely worth it in the end.
CAN I TOP THIS WITH SOMETHING OTHER THAN CHOPPED NUTS?
Yes! Another thing that we like to top it with is flaked sea salt, the sweet and salty go together super well.
Some other ideas you could do include: toffee bits, chopped bacon, mini chocolate chips, etc.
HOW MUCH DOES THIS MAKE?
Depending on how large you cut your pieces, we came out with roughly 30 pieces when cut into 5 across and 6 squares down.
This will depend on how large you are wanting to cut your pieces. You can make them larger or smaller depending on your preference.
HOW TO STORE:
This can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature where it will keep for up to one week.
You can also store this in the refrigerator in an airtight container where it will keep for up to 4 weeks.
Freezing is also an options, place in a freezer safe container and it will keep in the freezer for up to 3-4 months.
To defrost, remove to the refrigerator overnight until thawed then place on the countertop to come to room temperature.
