Spicy and sweet with just the perfect amount of bite, these General Tso’s Chicken Sandwiches are a fun and easy weeknight dinner that satisfies everyone.
So if you don’t know already, I’m a huge fan of take-out Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Hunan..you name it, we absolutely love to eat it. It’s horrible really how much I get it. But I mean we all have our addictions right? Well I am the biggest lover of General Tso’s chicken. Usually I load up on the stuff and can’t get enough, luckily enough my husband AND kids are all also huge fans, so thats a win right?
So like I’ve mentioned before, we are in the throws of baseball season here. Quick easy weeknight meals are what we thrive off of and literally my friends, these General Tso’s Chicken Sandwiches are super quick and easy to whip up! You’re going to fall in love!!
Now what makes these quick is that I use crispy breaded chicken patties from the freezer section. Yes, the freezer section. I mean you can absolutely make your own if you have some extra time on your hands, but we don’t always have that, so in this case we stuck with the frozen patties. Now make sure you get the crispy and flaky kind, it makes it just oh so much better.
It soaks up the sauce more and makes room for more places this delicious sauce can go! I mean…yum!! Plus side, this sauce tames mere minutes to make. All you really have to do is make the patties and sit back and wait. But another thing we love with these General Tso’s Chicken Sandwiches is topping it with a little asian slaw! We use this slaw on our Slow Cooker Asian BBQ Pork Sliders but I took out the kimchi for this recipe because I didn’t want it to be too over powering for the kids.
So if you’re bored of your normal easy weeknight meal routine then I highly recommend these General Tso’s Chicken Sandwiches. They are kid-friendly and adult adored. Plus if you’re anything like me then you’ll get your take out fix at a fraction of the price!
