Garlic Naan

With minimal and easy to find ingredients, this Garlic Naan is super easy, tasty and goes with all the things.

Ingredients

  • 1 ⅓ cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 3 Tablespoons minced garlic
  • Oil for brushing
  • Chopped parsley for garnish optional
  • Sea salt for garnish optional

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine flour and Greek yogurt. Mix on low speed using a dough hook attachment.
  • Mix until the flour is incorporated, and the dough is smooth.
  • Place dough on a well-floured surface and knead with your hands a few times until the dough is formed into a smooth ball.
  • Divide the dough ball into 8 even pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  • Roll each dough ball in flour and then roll flat using a rolling pin. Each piece should be as thin as you can get it without it breaking.
  • Brush each piece with neutral oil (both sides) and brush garlic onto one side of each piece of naan.
  • Heat a pan to medium heat, then place the naan onto the pan. It should bubble up. Cook each side for 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove from the pan and brush lightly with oil again and sprinkle with sea salt and freshly cut parsley.
  • Serve with your favorite dish or enjoy by itself!

Notes

  1. Make sure you are using PLAIN Greek yogurt, don't accidentally get flavored.
  2. These can be frozen, see above on how to do that.
  3. Use self-rising flour for this since we are not using yeast.
  4. Easily double this recipe to serve more people or keep on hand for later.
  5. If you want to give it a little heat, sprinkle some red pepper flakes after it is done cooking.
  6. This can be served with so many different dishes, see above on some ideas.
  7. Adding the parsley and sea salt is optional but adds some more great flavor.
  8. This recipe makes 8 good sized portions.
