Blackberry Bourbon Smash

Ingredients

  • Juice of half a lime
  • 8 fresh blackberries
  • 3 Tablespoons honey
  • Ice
  • 4 ounces bourbon whiskey
  • 4 ounces club soda
  • Blackberries for garnish (optional)
  • Rosemary sprig for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Muddle the lime juice, blackberries, and honey together in a bowl or bottom of a cocktail shaker.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, the muddled ingredients and bourbon. Shake until well combined.
  • Strain the mixture into two serving glasses with ice.
  • Top each off with the club soda.
  • Garnish with fresh blackberries and/or a rosemary sprig.

Notes

  1. You can use frozen blackberries, but make sure that you thaw and drain them.
  2. Use your favorite bourbon, see some brands above.
  3. You do not have to strain this recipe if you do not want to.
  4. Garnish with blackberries, rosemary, limes, mint leaves, etc.
  5. You can easily double this recipe.
  6. Instead of honey you can use simple syrup or granulated sugar.
  7. Make sure to muddle this well so it really releases the flavors.
