Slow Cooker Beef Short Ribs

Tender, juicy and delicious these Slow Cooker Beef Short Ribs are a great dinnertime meal with minimal ingredients and prep that the whole family loves.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef short ribs If using ribs with bone, 3-4 pounds
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup grape juice
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce we use Honey BBQ
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 3 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbs soy sauce

Instructions

  • Season ribs with salt and pepper, then place at the bottom of the crockpot. Cover ribs with onion and garlic.
  • In a small bowl, combine grape juice, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Stir to combine sauces before pouring over ribs.
  • Cook in slow cooker on high for about 4 hours, until beef is tender.
  • Using a strainer, drain the juices from the meat, reserve for topping if desired.
  • With meat in a bowl add a little bit of the strained juice, use two forks to shred the meat.
  • Serve over pasta, mashed potatoes, or in a bun.

Notes

  1. Recipe nutrition only calculated for meat not what it is served with.
  2. We like to use Honey BBQ sauce in this recipe as it complements the grape juice, but you can use any flavor you like.
  3. This can be made with boneless, bone-in or pork ribs. We have tried all three and they are all great.

  6. The grape jelly helps make the meat super tender, you will want to use it no matter what.
  7. You can reserve some juice to pour over the top if you desire.
  8. Serve with mashed potatoes, pasta, rice or even as a sandwich
