Red Velvet Brownies

Homemade, chewy, delicious and easy these Red Velvet Blondies are a must make dessert recipe that is a family favorite that everyone loves.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbs milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 Tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Red food coloring
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 can cream cheese frosting

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, mix the oil, brown sugar, with eggs.
  • Add in the vanilla, milk, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, and a few drops of red food coloring. Depending on the brand or type of food coloring you use, you may need to add about a teaspoon of the food coloring. If you are using gel, just about 5 drops should be enough.
  • Mix all of the ingredients together and then add in the flour.
  • Continue mixing, scaping the edge of the bowl to get all ingredients to incorporate into the batter.
  • Once it is thick, stir in the white chocolate chips.
  • Evenly pour batter into a lightly sprayed 13x9 cake pan. Place in the center rack of the oven and bake for about 28-30 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool before cutting or frosting.

Notes

  1. Frosting is not calculated into nutritional value.
  2. We use white chocolate chips for this recipe, you can try other chocolate chips but we only like with white chocolate, also white chocolate chunks work.
  3. We sometimes like to add some nuts to these brownies to give them some more texture, this is optional.
  4. You can frost these with your favorite frosting or just serve plain or with ice cream.
  5. You can freeze these brownies, look under my storing tips above.
  6. These can be cut in half or doubled depending on how many you are serving.
