- 8 cups water divided
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 12 ounces raspberries
- 2 cups lemon juice freshly squeezed (about 10-12 lemons)
Set a saucepan over medium-low heat and add 2 cups of water. Add the sugar and raspberries and stir frequently until the sugar dissolves. The raspberries will become soft and will smoosh down as you stir them.
Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl. Press the raspberry pieces firmly against the strainer to get as much raspberry juice as possible.
Add the remaining 6 cups water and the lemon juice to the bowl and stir together.
Pour the lemonade into a serving pitcher and refrigerate until chilled completely.
Chill before serving for best results. Make sure to stir the lemonade before serving.
Serve in glasses with ice and extra raspberries and lemon slices, if desired.
- Other fruits can be used, see some ideas above.
- Make sure that you chill this, about 1 hour will be fine.
- Using ice cold water is best.
- You can use fresh or frozen raspberries for this recipe.
- DO NOT use bottled lemon juice.
- The raspberry lemonade will separate slightly as it sits in the fridge so make sure to stir well before serving each time it sits for a few minutes.
- You can pour the mixture straight into a large pitcher if you have one that’s easy to pour into.
- Double this recipe if you are serving more people or want to have more on hand.
