  • 3 ounces Mezcal or silver tequila
  • 2 ounces Cointreau
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • Lime wedge or slices optional

Instructions

  • Salt your glass by wetting the rim with a lime wedge, and then place it upside down in a shallow plate that has been sprinkled with salt.
  • Fill a shaker cup with some ice and add in an ounce of lime juice, Mezcal (or tequila), Cointreau and granulated sugar.
  • Shake well for about a minute and then pour into glass and garnish with lime if desired.

Notes

  1. If you don't want to use Mezcal you can use silver tequila for this recipe.
  2. Make sure that you are using fresh lime juice.
  3. Easily double or triple this recipe to serve more people.
  4. Use your favorite orange liqueur, we like to use Cointreau.
  5. Rim the glass with other things, see above for some ideas.
  6. If you want it sweeter add some agave or simple syrup a little at a time until you reach your desired sweetness.
  7. This is great for parties, gatherings, taco night, etc.
