- 7.9-8- ounce package Halloumi cheese
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil + more for serving
- 1 Tablespoon fresh basil torn into small pieces
- Lemon slices for serving
- Pita bread for serving optional
Preheat grill to about 375 degrees F.
Slice halloumi brick into 8 equal pieces, about ½ inch thick, then pat dry with paper towels.
Brush both sides of each slice generously with olive oil.
Place cheese slices into heated grill.
Grill for 2-3 minutes per side or until browning grill marks appear, careful not to overcook.
Top with torn basil and serve warm with lemon slices and olive oil.
- You can easily double this recipe.

- You can swap out the basil for mint leave if you like.
- Squeeze the lemon slices over the cheese before serving if desired.
- This has a high melting point so it is perfect for grilling.
