Chocolate Gravy
Creamy, chocolately and utterly delicious this Chocolate Gravy is a Southern staple that is lick your finger good! Only 6 ingredients and under 15 minutes!

- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 Tbs flour
- 2 Tbs cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup water
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 Tbs butter
- 2 tsp vanilla
In sauce pan mix together your sugar, flour and cocoa.
Whisk in your water until combined then continue whisking while adding milk.
Bring to a gentle boil and reduce heat and simmer until gravy thickens, stirring continually.
Once thickened add your butter and vanilla and continue to simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly more.
Serve with biscuits, scones or whatever you fancy!
- We like to use unsweetened cocoa powder, but you can use dutch process.
- This can be frozen, please reference my notes above on how to do that.
- This can be served on a variety of delicious desserts or just eaten with a spoon (that might just be me though).
- This is best served warm, it will thicken as it cools.
