Candied Pecan Recipe

A tasty and festive this Candied Pecan Recipe is perfect for holidays or just because you are a candied nut lover. Super easy and absolutely tasty!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar packed
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg white
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups pecan halves

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 225 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside.
  • Place the sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a medium-sized bowl.
  • Whisk together to combine, set aside.
  • In a large bowl add the egg white, water, and vanilla.
  • Whisk together until light and foamy, about 2 minutes.
  • Add the pecans to the bowl. Stir until they are coated in the egg white.
  • Add the sugar mixture and stir until everything is coated.
  • Pour out the pecans onto the baking sheet in an even layer.
  • Bake for 60 minutes, stirring the pecans every 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet and enjoy.

Notes

  1. These can be frozen, see above on how to do that.
  2. Add some ginger or even cayenne pepper for a different flavor.
  3. Easily double this recipe.
  4. These are great to bag up and give as gifts.
  5. Parchment paper is highly recommended so the nuts do not stick to the pan.

  7. Make sure you are using pecan halves.
