BBQ Chipped Ham Sandwich
Hailing from Pittsburgh this BBQ Chipped Ham Sandwich is a deliciously easy recipe that takes minimal time but is huge on flavor.

- 2 pounds chopped deli ham, shaved or chipped
- 18- ounce sweet and smoky BBQ sauce
- 1 cup chili sauce
- 1 Tablespoon oil
- 1 large or 2 medium yellow onions chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 8- pack good quality hamburger buns
Heat the oil, over medium heat, in a large saucepot or Dutch oven and sauté the chopped onions for 2-3 minutes to soften.
While the onions are cooking, coarsely chop through the ham just to make sure there are no large, bulky pieces.
When the onions are softened, add the chopped ham to the pot and mix.
Add the barbecue sauce, chili sauce, and black pepper to the ham and onions and stir thoroughly. If the sauce is looking too thick and a little dry, add a little water, ¼ cup at a time.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 45-50 minutes for best results.
Remove from the heat and let stand for 10-15 minutes before serving to allow the sauce to thicken up.
Drop mounding piles onto hamburger buns and enjoy!
