Ingredients

Salmon:

  • 1 pound salmon filet skinless, cut into bite sized 1-inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

Sauce:

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • teaspoon salt plus more to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • Optional green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, salt, and ground ginger powder.
  • Heat the sauce until it starts to simmer. Keep the sauce at a simmer while whisking frequently for about 7-8 minutes to thicken the sauce. Remove from the heat.
  • Preheat air fryer to 400 Fahrenheit for 2 minutes while preparing the salmon.
  • In a medium mixing bowl add the salmon pieces and drizzle the olive oil over top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and gently toss to coat evenly.
  • Place the salmon in the basket of the air fryer and cook for 2 minutes. Shake the basket or flip the salmon pieces over and bake an additional 2 minutes. Don’t overcrowd; air fry the salmon in 2 batches if your air fryer isn’t large enough for all of it.
  • Remove the salmon from the air fryer and gently place into the saucepan. Gently coat the salmon with the sauce, let excess sauce drip off, and put back in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry an additional 2-3 minutes until the salmon is cooked through.
  • Remove from the air fryer and garnish with sesame seeds and optional green onions.

Notes

  1. You can use frozen salmon, but make sure that it is completely thawed before making the recipe.
  2. Make sure you are using low sodium soy sauce or this can be overly salty.
  3. Recommended internal temperature for salmon s 145 degrees F.
  4. You can easily double this recipe.
  5. Make sure you are gentle when tossing your salmon into the glaze as it is tender and could fall apart.
  6. This is great served with rice and a green vegetable like edamame, broccoli, etc.
  7. This recipe can be made on the stovetop or oven, see above on how to do that.
