In a small mixing bowl, combine ¼ cup of the warm water and the yeast. Whisk together and let the mixture stand for about 5 minutes or until it becomes foamy.
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, add the flour, butter, sugar, salt, remaining water and the yeast mixture. Mix on medium speed until a dough forms. It will be slightly sticky but should clear the sides of the bowl.
Move the dough from the bowl onto a floured surface and knead by hand until the dough is smooth and soft.
Roll the dough into a log shape and cut into 16 equal pieces.
Using your hands, roll the dough into a breadstick shape approximately 6-7 inches long. Place on a lined baking sheet 2 inches apart. Cover with a towel or cloth and let rise in a warm place until the breadsticks double in size.
While your dough is rising, preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
Melt your butter in a small bowl and then brush the risen breadsticks with the melted butter. Then, sprinkle each one with a pinch of sea salt garlic powder, and oregano.
Bake for 13-15 minutes or until the breadsticks are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and enjoy.
