Rum Sour

This Rum Sour is a smooth cocktail that gives you both sweet and sour flavors with every sip. It's an eye catcher and sends your tastebuds zinging!

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces dark rum
  • 1 large pasteurized egg white
  • ¾ ounce lemon juice fresh squeezed
  • ¾ ounce simple syrup
  • Dried lemon wheels garnish
  • Luxardo maraschino cherries garnish

Instructions

  • In a cocktail shaker add the rum, egg white, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
  • Place the top onto the cocktail shaker, shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.
  • Grab a handful of ice and add it to the cocktail shaker, put the top back on and shake vigorously for 1 minute.
  • Strain mixture into a coupe glass and garnish with dried lemon wheels and cherries if desired.

Notes

  1. If you are apprehensive about the egg whites, as long as they're pasteurized, they're safe to use. If you want to change it out, see my suggestion above. 
  2. You can mix up the citrus flavor by using some orange with your lemon. 
  3. This cocktail recipe is perfect to scale and make for of for gatherings. 
  4. If you can't find luxardo maraschino cherries, you can use regular maraschino cherries.
