Homemade Tartar Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups full fat mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoons garlic dill pickles or regular dill finely chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons pickled jalapenos
  • 1 Tablespoon capers chopped
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons fresh dill chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, garlic dill pickle, pickled jalapenos, capers, lemon juice, and fresh dill. Stir until well blended and creamy.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cover and refrigerate until serving time or for at least 30 minutes.

Notes

  1. You can use garlic dill or regular dill pickles for this recipe.
  2. Chop your pickles as large or as fine as you'd like.
  3. The pickled jalapenos can be omitted if you are not a fan of spice.
  4. If you want to add some more spice to this you can add some hot sauce if you'd like.
  5. We do not recommend freezing this recipe.
  6. This goes well with so many different things, see above for some ideas.
  7. You can use miracle whip if you are not a fan of mayonnaise, but we highly recommend full fat mayonnaise.
  8. Make sure that you chill this for 30 minutes to get it cold and let the flavors marry.
