Lemon Drop Shots

Ingredients

  • Ice
  • 4 ounces vodka
  • 2 ounces lemon juice plus extra for rimming glasses
  • 2 ounces simple syrup
  • Lemon wedges for garnish optional
  • Granulated sugar for rimming glasses

Instructions

  • In a cocktail shaker or glass (whatever you have on hand works), add the ice, vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Shake lightly to mix the ingredients together.
  • Dip each of the rims of the shot glasses in lemon juice.
  • Then in the granulated sugar making sure to coat the glasses well and evenly.
  • Divide the shot mixture between 4-5 shot glasses and top with a lemon wedge, if desired.

Notes

  • Fresh squeezed lemon juice is the best, but you can use bottled in a pinch.
  • You can substitute lemon lime soda for the simple syrup.
  • The rimming of the glasses is optional, but we love the sweetness that it gives these shots.
  • Use your favorite type of vodka for this recipe, see some suggestions above.
  • You can easily double this recipe to serve more people.
  • If you do not want to use ice, you can chill your liquids before hand.
