For the berries:
- 12 ounces fresh raspberries
- 12 ounces fresh blackberries
- 1 pint fresh blueberries
- juice from 1/2 a lemon optional
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
For the topping:
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
- 2/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 7 tablespoons cold butter cut in to cubes
Preheat the oven to 375.
In a large bowl, mix the berries, lemon juice, sugar and flour and toss to coat. Transfer the berries into an 8x11 baking dish, 9" pie plate or 9" cast iron skillet. All would work fine. Set aside.
In that same bowl, mix the remaining flour, oats, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon and stir to combine.
Add the butter, and using your hands, two knives, or a pastry blender, cut the butter into the dry ingredients until it's the size of small peas. Spread over the fruit and bake until golden and bubbly, 45-55 minutes.
