- 1 pound lean ground beef 80/20
- 1 cup small diced onion
- 1 ounce packet taco seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
- ¼ cup chopped cilantro
- 12 ounces spaghetti noodles
- Taco toppings of your choice
In a large skillet with deep sides, brown the meat with the onion over medium heat, breaking up the meat into crumbles and stirring occasionally until there is no pink left. About 5-8 minutes.
Add the taco seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
Stir until combined and cook until fragrant, stirring constantly, about 30 seconds.
Add the crushed tomatoes and cilantro, stir it in until combined.
Turn down the heat to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes stirring occasionally.
While the sauce is simmering, cook the noodles. Once the sauce is done simmering, add the noodles directly to the skillet with the sauce and stir them in until combined. I find using tongs helps.
Serve immediately with taco toppings of your choice.
