Ingredients

  • cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • cup Halloween colored M&Ms (or Cookies and Cream flavored) divided
  • cup oreos chopped and divided
  • Sprinkles optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda, set aside.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat together the butter granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.
  • Add in the eggs and vanilla and beat well, making sure to scrape down the sides.
  • Slowly add in flour mixture, and mix until everything is just combined.
  • Fold in 1 cup each of M&M’s and chopped Oreos.
  • Evenly spread the batter into the prepared pan pushing down the top slightly, then top with remaining M&M’s, Oreo’s, and sprinkles.
  • Bake for 24 to 27 minutes until the edges are just turning a golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let the bars cool in the pan completely.
  • Take the bars out of the pan using the edges of the parchment to pull and cut into squares.

Notes

  1. These are somewhat thicker, so I do not recommend using anything smaller than the 9x13-inch pan.
  2. You can absolutely double these bars and either make in two 9x13-inch pans or a 13x18-inch pan.
  3. If you can't find the Cookies and Cream M&Ms you can use other Halloween colored M&Ms.
  4. Switch up the colors of sprinkles and M&Ms for each holiday!
  5. The base is great to build off of and you can add anything you like to it, see my tips above.
  6. These can be frozen, again see above on how to do that.
  7. Make these with kids for a fun holiday treat.
  8. Make sure that you fully cool in the pan before cutting.
