Thai Iced Tea
Looking for that perfect drink to cool down with this summer? Then you need to whip up a batch of my Thai Iced Tea, delicious flavor, easy to make and perfectly refreshing.
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup Thai tea mix
- Ice for serving
- 1/4-1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
Place the water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour in the sugar and whisk constantly to dissolve.
Add the Thai tea mix and mix it in so it’s submerged in the water. Bring the water back to a boil, turn the burner on to medium-low, and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Take the pan off the heat and let the tea steep for 15 minutes.
Take a cheesecloth and overlap it two times. Place it in a fine-mesh strainer over a bowl. Pour the steeped tea through the cheesecloth, so any bits of tea get caught in the cheesecloth. Discard the used tea.
Let the strained tea come to room temperature then place in the refrigerator to chill before serving.
Fill glasses with ice.
Pour the tea over the ice leaving about an inch from the rim.
Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and serve.
You can stir the condensed milk through the entire drink in or leave it to float on top and just stir it in on top. Start with 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk per glass, taste, and add more if desired.
- You can easily double this batch to serve more people.
- Different milks can be used, see my tips above.
- This creates a great base for Boba Tea if you are a fan!
- Add you sweetened condensed milk a little at a time and taste and add more to your flavor preference.
- This can be served hot as well.
