S'mores Dip

With only 3 basic ingredients and 15 minutes you'll have this ooey gooey and delicious S'mores Dip. The perfect play on your favorite summer treat the whole family loves.

Ingredients

  • 24 oz 2 bags chocolate chips (your favorite flavor)
  • 2 Tbs unsalted butter thinly sliced
  • 12 oz bag large marshmallows
  • Graham crackers and fresh strawberries for dipping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Add the chocolate chips to the bottom of a 12-inch cast-iron skillet or baking dish that is broiler safe.
  • Add the thinly sliced butter on top.
  • Place the skillet into the oven for 3-4 minutes until the chocolate starts to melt. The chips will appear glossy now instead of matte.
  • Stir the chocolate together with a spoon, if the chips are not completely melted that is okay.
  • Add the marshmallows on top of the melted chocolate. I like to add them cut side up for a pretty presentation.
  • Place the dish back into the oven for 3-4 minutes, until the marshmallows begin to soften and droop, they will turn slightly golden. At this point, it is ready to eat if you like not as toasted marshmallows. If you like more toasted marshmallows, take the dish or skillet out of the oven. Heat the broiler on high, keep the oven rack in the middle of the oven position. Once heated, place the skillet back in the oven and broil just until the marshmallows reach your desired toastiness.

Notes

  1. A large cast iron skillet works amazing for this recipe as it retains heat.
  2. You can use any flavor of chocolate chips or chocolate bars that you like.
  3. Mini marshmallows can be used in a pinch.
  4. If you like your marshmallows toasted like I do I highly recommend placing them under the broiler.
  5. The addition of the butter helps to keep the chocolate silky smooth and not harden up back up as fast.
  6. Higher quality chocolate is recommended as it melts easier.
