- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbs light corn syrup
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup coarse white sparkling decorators sugar
- Water
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare a baking sheet by lining with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, baking powder and baking soda. Set aside.
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to blend the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs, corn syrup and vanilla extract and beat on low speed until well combined.
Add the dry ingredients and mix just until they are well incorporated. If needed, you can add a few drops of water just until the mixture so the dough comes together.
6Form one inch dough balls and roll in the coarse sugar. Place evenly apart on the prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly.
Bake for 12 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
Place on cooling rack until completely cooled.
