  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbs light corn syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup coarse white sparkling decorators sugar
  • Water


  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare a baking sheet by lining with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, baking powder and baking soda. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to blend the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, corn syrup and vanilla extract and beat on low speed until well combined.
  • Add the dry ingredients and mix just until they are well incorporated. If needed, you can add a few drops of water just until the mixture so the dough comes together.
  • 6Form one inch dough balls and roll in the coarse sugar. Place evenly apart on the prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly.
  • Bake for 12 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
  • Place on cooling rack until completely cooled.
