- Zest of 2 lemons
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 Tbs poppyseeds
In a pan on your stove mix together your lemon zest, lemon juice, sugar and eggs then stir in your milk and vanilla and mix until blended.
Heat on medium and stir constantly until simmering and slightly thickens, remove from heat.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until cool.
Once cool stir in your heavy whipping cream and pour into your ice cream making adding your poppyseeds and turn on and mix according to manufacturers directions.
