Potatoes Au Gratin

Creamy, cheesy and the perfect side these Potatoes Au Gratin are the perfect addition to any meal and feed a crowd with minimal ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 4 lb potatoes peeled and slices 1/8" thin
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbs flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 Tbs butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • In a 2 qt oval or round baking dish butter bottom and sides of dish.
  • Peel and slice your potatoes into 1/8" slices layer your potatoes vertically into dish pressing them down in a slight angle so they look slightly shingled.
  • In a bowl whisk together cream, milk, flour, garlic, garlic powder, salt, pepper and 1 1/2 cups of cheese.
  • Pour our sauce over your potatoes and life them up slightly so the cream mixture can seep through all the cracks.
  • Cover with tin foil and bake in oven for 40 minutes.
  • Remove tin foil and sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until golden.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle with parsley if desired.
