Potatoes Au Gratin

- 4 lb potatoes peeled and slices 1/8" thin
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt & pepper
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 Tbs flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 Tbs butter
Preheat oven to 400.
In a 2 qt oval or round baking dish butter bottom and sides of dish.
Peel and slice your potatoes into 1/8" slices layer your potatoes vertically into dish pressing them down in a slight angle so they look slightly shingled.
In a bowl whisk together cream, milk, flour, garlic, garlic powder, salt, pepper and 1 1/2 cups of cheese.
Pour our sauce over your potatoes and life them up slightly so the cream mixture can seep through all the cracks.
Cover with tin foil and bake in oven for 40 minutes.
Remove tin foil and sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until golden.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with parsley if desired.
