Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ¼ cup milk
  • 3 Tablespoons salted butter melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Powdered sugar optional
  • Chocolate syrup optional

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk the egg with the milk. Add in the melted butter and whisk until it is well combined.
  • Add in the dry ingredients, whisking until the batter is completely mixed and there are no large clumps of flour or cocoa powder. Be careful to not overmix.
  • Place a non-stick skillet on the stove over medium heat, using a ¼ cup measuring cup, measure the batter and pour over the hot skillet. (You can test the skillet by dropping a few drops of water)
  • Cook until the small bubbles appear on the pancake, then flip to cook on the other side. Repeat with remaining batter.
  • Remove from the pan and serve with powdered sugar and chocolate syrup if desired.
