Ingredients

  • 3.4 ounce instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup cold whole milk
  • 1 cup cold banana liqueur
  • 16 ounces whipped topping
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Rainbow sprinkles
  • Maraschino cherries

Instructions

  • Whisk together the pudding mix, cold milk, and banana liqueur in a large mixing bowl for 2 minutes.
  • Add in 8 ounces of whipped topping and whisk the mixture until smooth. Place the mixing bowl in the refrigerator for 5 minutes.
  • Set out your plastic shot cups and remove the pudding mixture. Add 3 tablespoons of the pudding mixture in to each shot cup. Cover the cups with the tops then place them in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to chill.
  • When ready to serve the pudding shots, dollop or pipe the additional whipped topping on to each shot, followed by chocolate syrup, sprinkles, and a maraschino cherry on top. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  1. These shots are light in texture, if you want thicker shots, you can use less milk in the pudding recipe.
  2. If you want more banana flavor, add a few drops of high quality banana extract.
  3. Feel free to add any nuts to bring a chunky monkey feel to these pudding shots, crushed peanuts, walnuts, almonds, and pecans would all be good options.
  4. Wait until you're ready to serve these shots before adding the toppings.
  5. You can make these ahead of time, just store them in the fridge for up to a day in advance.
  6. You can freeze these, see my tips above.
  7. Feel free to use fresh made whipped cream in stead of the whipped topping. To make your own, take 2 cups of heavy whipping cream and a 1/4 cup of powdered sugar and put them in a mixing bowl and whip them together until stiff peaks form. You can use half as topping, and half in the pudding shot mix.
