Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef 80/20
  • 1 cup small diced onion
  • 1 ounce packet taco seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro
  • 12 ounces spaghetti noodles
  • Taco toppings of your choice

Instructions

  • In a large skillet with deep sides, brown the meat with the onion over medium heat, breaking up the meat into crumbles and stirring occasionally until there is no pink left. About 5-8 minutes.
  • Add the taco seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir until combined and cook until fragrant, stirring constantly, about 30 seconds.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes and cilantro, stir it in until combined.
  • Turn down the heat to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • While the sauce is simmering, cook the noodles. Once the sauce is done simmering, add the noodles directly to the skillet with the sauce and stir them in until combined. I find using tongs helps.
  • Serve immediately with taco toppings of your choice.
