Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 3 Tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 3 cups vanilla ice cream about 8 scoops
  • cup whole milk
  • ¾ teaspoon peppermint extract more or less to taste
  • Green food coloring to your preference
  • Maraschino cherries for garnish
  • Sprinkles for garnish optional

Instructions

  • In a medium-sized bowl, with a hand mixer or a whisk, beat the heavy cream with the powdered sugar until you get stiff peaks. Set aside.
  • In a blender, add the ice cream, milk, peppermint extract, green food coloring, and half of the whipped cream.
  • Blend until smooth. Taste, add more food coloring and extract as you feel necessary for color and flavor.
  • Blend again to combine if you added anything.
  • Pour the milkshake mixture into glasses.
  • Top with the remaining whipped cream, maraschino cherries, and sprinkles if using and serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Add more or less extract to your liking.
  2. Gel or liquid food coloring can be used.
  3. Use as much food coloring as you'd like to reach your desired color.
  4. Double this recipe to serve more people.
  5. Any vanilla ice cream will work for this.
  6. You can use store-bought whipped cream if you do not want to make your own.
