Easy Garlic Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces crusty bread we use french bread
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 6 cloves garlic minced (3 teaspoons)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Slice the bread lengthwise in half and place it cut side up on a sheet tray, set aside.
  • Add the butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper to a bowl. Mash it up with a fork until combined.
  • Spread this mixture evenly over the cut portion of the bread.
  • Bake for 8 minutes. Turn the broiler on and broil for 2-4 minutes or until your desired toastiness.
  • Let cool to the touch and slice before serving.

Notes

  1. If you want a less garlic flavor you can cut back to 3 cloves or 1 1/2 teaspoons.
  2. Fresh garlic is best and mincing by hand but you can use jarred minced garlic.
  3. Use your favorite bread for this, we like French bread see above for other options.
  4. This can be frozen for up to 3 months, see storage on how to do that.
  5. In place of parsley you can use fresh oregano, fresh basil, or fresh chives.
  6. You can substitute 2 teaspoons dried parsley for the fresh.
  7. Add your favorite cheese to this!
