French Onion Dip

If you love easy and classic then you need to whip up my French Onion Dip! With only 6 ingredients and 5 minutes, this recipe couldn't be more simple.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 Tbs dried minced onion
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbs fresh chives or green onions chopped

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine the sour cream, chopped onion, onion powder, garlic salt, pepper and 1 Tablespoon of the fresh chives.
  • Stir until thoroughly combined.
  • Place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to join.
  • Top with remaining 1 Tablespoon fresh chives before serving.

Notes

  1. We like to refrigerate this for at least 30 minutes before serving, but can be served right away if necessary.
  2. You can use chives or green onions in this recipe.
  3. This can easily be doubled to make a larger batch.
  4. Traditionally this is served with potato chips but see above for some of my other serving options.
  5. You can absolutely tweak the seasonings to your liking.
  6. This makes about 1 cup.
