Eggnog Hot Chocolate

- 1 cup eggnog
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Whipped cream for topping optional
- Ground cinnamon or nutmeg for topping optional
Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and whisk together until combined.
Cook over medium-high heat until the sugar has dissolved completely and it barely comes to a light simmer.
Remove the saucepan from heat and divide between two mugs.
Top with whipped cream and cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.
