Chocolate Glazed Donuts

Super easy, quick and tasty these Chocolate Glazed Donuts are the perfect breakfast that whips up in a jiffy and taste amazing.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 6 Tbs milk
  • 2 Tbs butter melted
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

GLAZE:

  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 Tbs cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3-4 Tbs milk
  • Rainbow sprinkles optional

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 400 and spray a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray, set aside.
  • In bowl, add all dry ingredients and whisk to combine.
  • Add egg, sour cream, milk, butter and vanilla extract and stir everything until just combined.
  • Spoon or pipe using a piping bag into wells of donut pan.
  • Cook for about 10 minutes or until donuts spring back when touched.
  • Remove from oven and place on wire rack to cool.
  • Meanwhile mix together your glaze ingredients until smooth and you get a dipping consistency.
  • Once donuts are cool dip tops of each donut into glaze and sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles if desired.

Notes

  1. This recipe can be easily halved or doubled depending on the amount of people you are serving.
  2. Let them cool as much as possible before dipping them so the glaze doesn't melt off the donuts.
  3. The glaze hardens (not too hard) quickly so do not make the glaze too far ahead of time.
  4. Place your donut batter in a piping bag and pipe into wells, this has always been our trick to get perfect, even donuts.
  5. This recipe is really a great basic donut base, you can add different flavors to it or fruits or chocolate chips etc.
