- 12 oz crispix cereal
- 12-16 oz salted peanuts
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/3 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
In large microwave safe bowl mix togeter crispiz and peanuts until combined, set aside.
In large pan add your butter, sugar and corn syrup and bring to a bowl mixing until combined.
Remove from heat and mix in your baking soda.
Pour mixture over crispix and peanuts and stir to combined.
Microwave for 5 minutes stirring after each minute.
Pour out onto parchment paper lined baking sheet or counter top and set set up for about 1 hour and then bread into pieces.
- Use a large microwave safe bowl when mixing your crispix and peanuts since this will be needed to be microwaved.
- You can use any kind of nuts that you like and think would complement the salty sweet aspect of the recipe.
- Make sure you stir every minute in the five minutes of microwaving, this ensures that the coating is evenly applied to each piece and it doesn't clump up.
- Spread as evenly onto a baking sheet as you can, you can also turn this out onto a parchment lined countertop if you have the room.
