If there was anything you wanted to spread on all the things it would be this rich and addicting Bourbon Bacon Jam!
Good morning everyone. This morning was definitely not a morning that I wanted to get up. I had a kid up all night coughing and I forgot how cold a room can get during the fall and winter months when you don’t turn on the heat. Burr, talk about not wanting to leave the covers. But obviously I obliged and got myself out of bed and got the kids up and dressed for school. Now I am sitting here writing this post as I drool over what it is about. Read more
So first off I apologize if this post is short and sweet. I have a lovely 2-year-old daughter who has a double ear infection and we just surpassed night 3 with no sleep. I feel so bad for my poor baby girl. I have her on antibiotics and have tried the old wives methods but nothing is working. So I’m going to go try to pick up some of those pain relieving ear drops today. Wish me luck people! This mama and her little nugget need some rest. With the kids off from school for MEA and daycare kids here it’s going to be a long day. Read more
This Bacon Beer Cheese Dip is a quick and easy appetizer that you can make for football, parties or just because you want something deliciously cheesy!
Football season is finally underway! Whoop! Now my husband and I aren’t big sports people, but my 10-year-old is! He is the student manager for the varsity football team at the local school and he loves it. He get’s to be right up front in the action and get’s to participate in the practices and interact with the players on a daily basis. Besides doing that he is a big ESPN fan and watches every sport imaginable. So needless to say if I care of not, I get score updates on pretty much any game that is currently on. Read more
Hey everyone, another Monday is upon us. This is the last week my kids have off before school starts. I think there are mixed emotions in this household. I know that they miss their friends, but I know that they are going to miss being able to do whatever they want as well. Hopefully it will be an easy adjustment them getting up daily at a certain time again. Usually they are pretty good at it, but my 8-year-old has had some problems in the past of wanting to get up and stay up. Read more
Happy Friday! I’m so happy it is finally Friday. This week has been what seems like a ridiculously long week. This weekend is our towns annual Town and Country Day’s. They have a parade, kids games, flea market and what not. Tonight they are doing a children’s mini miler and a kids parade so we will be going to that. What does your town do to celebrate yearly? Friday! Gateway to the weekend! So excited. I would be more excited if I actually got to sleep in tomorrow but alas, I cannot. Like mentioned before we are having our garage sale tomorrow. I think I’m prepared, maybe. Hopefully it is a success. I’m kind of just winging it. Got myself a little help here and there from Pinterest. Plus my lovely mother is coming over tonight and Saturday to help me, much to her chagrin. Read more
I have finally came to the conclusion that I do not sleep enough. It has been an issue since I had my first-born 10 years ago. I literally can wake up to the sound of someone touching the door handle. It’s probably the natural motherly thing that happens but dang. I think I’m gonna be like this until they all reach the age of 18 and leave the nest. But knowing me then it will be too quiet and I’ll wake up to the sound of dust bunnies or something. For now, I think I’ll handle what I have. Read more
So it’s the first official weekend since school has been out. It honestly doesn’t feel any different. My boy’s are already telling me they are bored by 10:00 am. I have a feeling this is going to be a long summer. Thankfully last year we moved into town from the country! I know a lot of people who would kill to live out in the country, not this gal. Yes, the privacy is nice, and the quietness is awesome, but it’s almost too quiet. I’m the type of girl who likes to go, go, go. Country didn’t suit me well because there never really was anything to see or do. Now with the conveniences of town I have access to other moms, a gas station, a restaurant, a pool and a park. Have you noticed how I used these words in the singular? That’s right, they have one of each of these things. My town = population 800. Read more
I don’t know about you guys but I don’t trust those desserts baked in 8×8 pans….I just can’t bring myself to make them. When I make a dessert it has to be at least in a 9×13 inch pan for my enjoyment because we all know that if it were any smaller it would be gone in like 2.7 seconds. Kinda like these blondies. THAT GOOD!!! CANDIED BACON, chocolate chips, caramel, sea salt?!?!? Now who can deny that’s not a heaven you want to be in? Read more
