Want the perfect morning breakfast? These Glazed Orange Muffins are quick, easy and tasty, a morning treat the whole family will enjoy.
Are you guys muffin lovers? We are! They are one breakfast food that whips up quick and come in a variety of flavors! These Glazed Orange Muffins have been one of my favorite recipes for many years now, the orange juice in the muffin and the glaze itself really puts this recipe over the top!
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU OVER MIX A MUFFIN?
You’ve all heard if you are a baker that you never want to over mix a batter recipe. Well there is a reason behind that, overmixing causes the batter to get tough and even breadier when it bakes up which in turn takes away the moist soft fluffy texture that you were aiming for. Never worry if you have small lumps of flour or mix leftover, they well bake up!
HOW DO YOU BAKE A MUFFIN?
Now like I stated earlier, these are a seriously simple recipe. There are no difficult ingredients and everything comes together quickly. With this recipe we use self rising flour, you can use some all-purpose flour if you like but then you will need to add some baking powder. This dough is a little thicker, but don’t let that fool you, they are moist and light and airy just the way we want them.
Now these start off with mixing together your dry ingredients which consist of flour and sugar. Then you mix together your we ingredients which consist of butter, egg, orange juice, sour cream, orange juice and orange zest. Then combine the two together and place in a muffin tin and bake!
These Orange Muffins are really kid friendly, if your kids love orange juice then they will love these. There is something about these muffins that make them truly addicting in my eyes, but that could just be my overwhelming love for all things orange flavored.
So if you’re on the hunt for something different for breakfast this week, weekend or for a get together or brunch with friends, these muffins are a no fail recipe!

These look yummy. Can’t wait to try. Thanks so much for listing the nutritional information. Can you tell me if that was calculated with sour cream or Greek yogurt and if by chance it was fat free. I would really appreciate it. Also, while I have you-do you use an app to figure out nutritional information on a recipe? Thanks so much!
This recipe was calculated with regular fat sour cream. We post a nutritional disclaimer under each recipe that you can click on and see where we get our nutritional information you can read that here: https://tornadoughalli.com/nutrition-disclaimer/
May I assume that one may substitute just about any citrus fruit, i.e., key line, lime, lemon, etc? Regardless, these look wonderful.
I would be inclined to say yes to this! I have never done it but I do not see how it wouldn’t work!
Amazingly delicious!!!! I have come to loathe store brought baked goods!!
These are one of my all time fave go-to muffins. I’m so happy you like them!
I made these today and they are yummy. Thank you for the recipe. I was wondering what you tool you were using in the video to scoop out the dough with. Thank you again.
Hi Lele, I actually was just using an ice cream scoop!
These cupcakes look divine! Double yum! Thanks so much for sharing your recipe with us at Funtastic Friday. I hope you can join us again for this week’s party:-)
I make something very similar – I wonder if it’s a Minnesota thang? I love them – they’re almost like candy!
Could be a MN thing for sure!
Easy Peasy Life Matters
These would make waking up really easy! They sound to die for 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing on the Weekend Potluck !
Erin @ Thanks for Cookin'!
I can’t WAIT to try this recipe! My husband (super weird) hates cooked fruit in any form. But since this doesn’t have any PIECES of fruit I bet he would actually taste one! LOL If not, that glaze is calling my name and I’m pretty sure I could take down all 12 of them anyways. Hahaha
These look fun! I agree, it’s kind of sad the holidays are over, but this little bit of citrus seems like it’ll brighten a wintry morning! Thanks for sharing at #HomeMattersParty
Thanks Hannah!! These are fun, I love all the glaze and the extra citrus kick it gives!!
Those look awesome! Did you try any without the glaze? I’m wondering if they need to glaze? Pinning to my Muffins and Cupcakes Board! Thank you!
Thanks Gigi. I haven’t tried them without the glaze but I would suspect the flavor is there just without the citrus punch from the glaze.
What a delightfully different muffin. I love citrus breads. Pinning. Thanks!
Thanks Kathryn. These are amazing.

These muffins are sure to make my morning a bit brighter! I don’t go without breakfast, ever, but I can also see eating these pretty much ALL day long! And maybe all night long… 🙂 All that bright citrus flavor and that warm muffin goodness – oh yes please! And I’m thinking having this in two bites is showing a lot of restraint because I’m pretty sure I’ll try to cram the whole thing in my mouth I’ll be so excited to eat it. Don’t judge 😉
Kathryn I may have gave myself too much credit when I said 2 bites. It was more like one…if that it was kind of a shove into the mouth where crumbs fly everywhere sort of deal.

Loving orange anything right now, and these go great with my muffin addiction!
