- This drink is all about fall flavors.
- Sweet but not overwhelming.
- Easy to make non-alcoholic by swapping champagne for sparkling apple cider.
- Doubles easily.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED (FULL RECIPE AT BOTTOM)
Caramel bits
Water
Granulated sugar
Ground cinnamon
Chilled apple cider
Chilled champagne
HOW TO MAKE APPLE CIDER MIMOSAS, STEP BY STEP:
- In a small microwave-safe bowl, add the caramel bits and water. Microwave this in 15-second intervals, making sure to stir well in between each interval. Repeat the microwaving process until the caramel bits have melted.
- In a separate small bowl, add cinnamon and sugar and stir to combine.
- Now grab one champagne glass at a time and dip the rim into the melted caramel and then into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Next, pour 2 ounces of apple cider into each dipped champagne glass.
- Finish it by filling the rest of the glass with champagne and garnishes if using, and serve immediately.
CAN I MAKE THIS AHEAD OF TIME?
Generally, I don’t recommend making any drinks that involve champagne or bubbly type of drinks ahead of time. If you make this too early the champagne will go flat and will not taste as delicious as when freshly made.
WHAT ELSE CAN I ADD?
Looking to add some flavored liquor to these mimosas? If adding anything else I would just use a half ounce of one of these recommendations to your drink. Here are a few ideas to add:
- Apple schnapps
- Caramel Vodka
- Cinnamon Roll Vodka
- Crown Royal Apple
- Pumpkin Spice Vodka
- Vanilla Vodka
- Whipped Vodka
WHAT ELSE CAN I USE INSTEAD OF CHAMPAGNE?
If you’re looking for something a little less pricey than champagne there are two other delicious options to choose from. Try Prosecco or Cava. They are both bubbly wine without such a hefty price tag.
Prosecco is from Italy and Cava is from Spain. Both are dry wines that are great for mixing with apple cider.
HOW TO STORE:
This mimosa recipe is best served when you first make it. So I don’t recommend trying to store this for later.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- You don’t want to make this cocktail ahead of time, but you can scale it so you have enough ingredients on hand to make many mimosas at one time.
- You really want to serve these fresh when you make them. The melted caramel rim is what really sets this drink apart. If you wait too long to serve, the caramel hardens and you won’t be able to lick it off and enjoy the cinnamon sugar caramel as you sip on your Apple Cider Mimosa.
- You can add other flavored liquor in here if desired, see some suggestions above.
- It is possible to make this kid-friendly, instead of champagne just use sparkling apple cider.
Planning a fall get-together with friends and family? Maybe you just want something sweet to sip on a cozy fall weekend. By chance if either of those sounds like you, then you need to grab these simple ingredients and take just a few minutes to whip up a batch of these fantastic Apple Cider Mimosas.
