Lemon Crumb Cake – Olive Garden Copycat

Lemon Crumb Cake

So yesterday was my amazing mother’s birthday! She turned 25 for like the 17th time….so younger than me, but that’s cool, I’ll turn that again one day 😉 Anyways, she asked me to make her a cake, obviously being the baker I am I happily obliged. So I asked her what she was craving, and lemon being one of her favorite flavors she told me that. Well I don’t know about you guy’s but this Lemon Crumb Cake from Olive Garden has been one of my favorite lemon desserts for the longest time. It is so light with just the perfect amount of lemon flavor AND those crumbs!! Yum, so I knew that this was the cake that I was going to make her.  Read more

Corned Beef Quesadilla

Corned Beef Quesadilla

So did I tell you that I finally took the plunge and invested in a DSLR? Yup, finally did it! Now I don’t take those decisions lightly at all! I’ve been so scared to take a step into the camera world because I loved some of the pics that my phone took, but since it took a bath and I had to get a replacement of a different kind I think it was a sign in the right direction. So I’ve been playing around with it and having fun. I’ve already purchased myself a new lens and a tripod that I can’t wait to arrive tomorrow. So we will see how this new experience treats me! These Corned Beef Quesadillas will be my 2nd recipe up on the blog that is taken with my new toy. The first being Monday’s lovely Coconut Tres Leches Cake. So if anyone has any tips or tricks they want to share with me on this whole food photography game, please I’m all ears.  Read more
